Proactive approach grows logisitics sector
One of the world’s leading global logistics providers has expanded its business operations at Hillington Park with a move into a 17,728 sq ft, modern industrial unit increasing the overall size of the logistics sector operating from the estate.

DB Schenker, which already operated an office function on the estate, supports industry and trade through land transport, worldwide air and ocean freight, contract logistics and supply chain management.

Its new warehouse at Evolution 202 on Mossland Road was previously home to OSL Rail, a large multidisciplinary engineering business working within the railway sector.  It will now support DB Schenker’s air-freight & freight-forwarding operations as well as being a new home to its existing administration team.

Derek Aitken, senior asset manager at Hillington Park explained: “We were already aware there was significant interest from occupiers for large, modern industrial units at Hillington Park, including some already based in the Park.  When OSL advised us that it no longer needed its Hillington premises we agreed to jointly market the unit and very quickly we were able to agree terms that met the expansion plans of an existing occupier, DB Schenker.

“Our proactive leasing strategy has helped both DB Schenker and OSL achieve their business objectives.  OSL exited its lease early and DB Schenker secured a prime, modern warehouse facility which fitted its expanding business requirements.  Frasers Property secured a longer-term lease commitment from a high-profile global business, resulting in a satisfactory outcome for everyone.”
