New drive thru rolls into Hillington Park

Freshly baked savouries, cakes and distinctive filled morning rolls as well as cups of freshly ground coffee have already drawn thousands of new customers to the latest exciting addition to Hillington Park’s expanding list of amenities.

Bayne’s the Family Bakers’ first drive-thru facility – situated close to Junction 26 of the busy M8 motorway – has welcomed more than 10,000 customers in its first few weeks of trading made up from people working on the estate and visitors travelling to enjoy their popular baked produce and friendly service.

The purpose-built scheme is Frasers Property’s second new build drive-thru development at Hillington Park. It was developed at a cost of almost £1m and handed over to Bayne’s the Family Bakers to undertake its internal fit-out and external signage/drive-thru installation.

John Bayne, managing director of Bayne’s the Family Bakers said: “We were very excited when we opened our doors with our first drive thru in Hillington. We’ve created 18 new jobs and the successful opening is due to the big effort that has been put in by the drive thru team, and all those colleagues in support.

“We’ve noticed very quickly that lots of our early morning customers, many who work at Hillington Park, are starting their day off with our popular morning roll with our own butchers made sliced sausage and a freshly ground latte.”

Julia Cheung Buchanan, Development Manager at Hillington Park said: “This is Bayne’s the Family Baker’s first ever drive thru facility and very quickly it has become a popular addition to the amenities at Hillington Park.

“The £1m purpose-built unit was completed in just seven months and is part of Fraser’s Property’s continued investment in Hillington Park that is adding new properties to the estate, as well as improving and modernising existing commercial units.”

Bayne’s the Family Bakers, a third-generation family business founded in 1954 in Fife, operates 62 shops across Scotland and a manufacturing facility in Lochore close to the site of the company’s original shop. It currently employs 650 colleagues across its business.
