Foam manufacturer ramps up exports
An innovative removable foam ramp manufactured by a Hillington Park based company for use on railway networks across the world has just been adopted by the French railway system.

The specialist ramp manufactured by Atholl Avenue based Kayfoam, provides safe and easy access for maintenance vehicles working across rail lines.

Formed in 2004 as part of a management buyout from British Vita Foam, Kayfoam is also Scotland’s largest foam convertor for the upholstery and packaging industry and manufacturer of flight cases for entertainment, sports, oil and gas industries.

Graeme Fleming from Kayfoam said: “The new agreement with the French railway network is a strong endorsement of our foam ramp. Innovation is at the heart of what we do and our specialist foam ramps are now being used across rail networks in the UK, Europe and Australasia.

“Our customers, for all of our products, are based across the world but Hillington Park remains our base where we employ 28 staff, most of who live locally.”

Other sectors that Kayfoam supply to include automotive, aerospace, food & drink, and retail.

Graeme added: “Our base at Hillington Park is an ideal hub with good transport routes within west central Scotland which enables us to easily reach our local customers and links us to our export networks too. It is also provides easy access for our staff. Our ambitions are to grow the business further creating more local job opportunities.”
