Mary’s Kitchen serves up family favourites
A young business owner is following in her parents’ footsteps by opening up her own café serving up homemade family favourites.

Jamie Lee Calton, 26, from Renfrew launched Mary’s Kitchen on Queen Elizabeth Avenue and it is already proving a hit with people working on the Park and beyond.

Specialising in dishes including chilli, steak pies, burgers and baked potatoes, Jamie Lee is using her experience of working in cafes since she was at school to build up a regular customer base.
With a team of four, Mary’s Kitchen, named after Jamie Lee’s beloved nana also provide sandwiches, snacks and coffee.

Jamie Lee said: “I’ve worked and been around this industry since I was a child, initially in my dad’s café. My mum runs her own place in Stirling so when I decided I wanted to open my own, I was able to tap into my experience and use the skills I had amassed over the years. My mum’s business has been very successful and I felt that the same type of food would go down well with people on Hillington Park.

“So far, I’ve been thrilled with the response we’ve had. As well as visitors and workers on the Park, we’re building up a steady customer base from people living in Hillington, Renfrew and Penilee which is fantastic. We regularly take orders from companies on the Park for staff meetings or Friday treats, so we’re hoping to grow this side of the business and continue to add to our offering to meet customer demand.”

Mary’s Kitchen is open 7.30am to 3pm.
