Freight forwarding business is flying high
The UK’s largest independent freight forwarding company has doubled its Hillington Park facilities to accommodate its growth.

Established in 1870, the Davies Turner Group – which has 23 locations throughout the UK with two Operational Centres in Scotland and has had a base on the Park since 2004 – has moved into a 10,000 sqft, fully refurbished unit on Montrose Avenue.

The secure, CAA accredited facility on the estate now boasts a team of 19 staff with an extensive range of clients from various industries.

Andrew Christie, Director, Davies Turner Air Cargo said: “Our newly designed unit is perfect for both customers and staff and we are delighted with it. It meets our every need for current and future use and is a first class environment to work in. To be able to have the freedom to turn this unit into what we needed was fantastic and the positive attitude from the management on the Park was second to none.

“We have a fleet of vehicles for delivery and collection of International cargo, so easy access to the airport and mainline routes is essential for us and is why we wanted to remain on Hillington Park and continue to grow while based here. We have both new and longstanding clients and our objective is to help them expand while doing so ourselves. Our new base on Montrose Avenue is designed with this goal in mind and we are very excited about the future.”

Grant Edmondson, commercial director at Hillington Park added: “We worked closely with Andrew to refurbish this vacant unit into a modern, fit-for-purpose space for Davies Turner. Our core business strategy is to retain our customers over the long term, so it was vital to understand what Davies Turner needed, identify the right solution and procure a package of works to deliver that. We know that the company are really happy with the result which proves that investing time and adopting a partnership approach with our occupiers yields positive outcomes for both parties.”
