Keys to popular baker’s first ‘drive-thru’ handed over at Hillington Park
The project to create the first drive-thru outlet for one of the country’s most popular family owned bakers has been completed on schedule at Hillington Park, Scotland’s largest trading estate.

The seven month programme to deliver the £1m purpose-built facility for Bayne’s the Family Bakers was undertaken by Glasgow based Bell Building Projects who has now handed over the unit for fit-out, in preparation for a target opening in January 2022.

The new 1,635 sqft scheme, which sits on a 0.8 acre site and includes 32 car parking spaces, is Frasers Property’s second new build ‘drive-up and drive-thru’ development at Hillington Park.

Bayne’s the Family Bakers, a third generation family business founded in 1954 in Fife, operates 59 shops across Scotland and a manufacturing facility in Lochore close to the site of the company’s original shop. It currently employs 560 staff across its business.

The Bayne’s the Family Bakers unit will be located in an amenity and automotive sales and servicing zone located in close proximity to Junction 26 on the M8 motorway which already has a popular Starbucks drive-thru facility.

Commenting on project completion, Julia Cheung Buchanan, Development Manager at Hillington Park said: “We are delighted that the project has been completed on schedule and we are now in a position to hand over the unit to Baynes the Family Bakers.  I would like to thank everyone at Bell Building Projects and the consultant team for delivering this fantastic new amenity, which I know will be warmly welcomed by the growing workforce at Hillington Park.”
