The Charity and Social Enterprise Award is presented to the organisation using digital technology to drive social good in Scotland and beyond. The judging panel were looking for companies using innovative digital projects to drive real and meaningful engagement for the charity’s beneficiaries and the public at large.
Cofficient’s client, Simon Community (Scotland), won for their enterprising use of NetSuite CRM to improve engagements and outcomes for rough sleepers.
Before implementing NetSuite (a cloud based business intelligence and information management system) volunteers would capture information about rough sleepers using pen and paper, taking managers upwards of ½ day per week to compile the information into meaningful data. There was also lack of visibility into the health and wellbeing issues affecting those rough sleeping. Improvements to the charity after Cofficient implemented their customised NetSuite solution include – 70% reduction in paper, 30% reduction in IT hardware and 100% improvement in data security. All time and monetary savings go straight back to the end user to improve their physical and emotional being.
Hugh Hill, Operations Director at Simon Community (Scotland) “Over 70% of rough sleepers are digitally excluded, having never had access to technology such as mobile phones, email addresses, home broadband or computers. Their ability to connect with the world has become even more difficult. We hope our use of technology will help to bridge that gap. For example, rough sleepers don’t have a permanent or virtual address to receive NHS circulars for routine screening tests. We are using NetSuite to help identify people who might otherwise slip through the net.”
Paul Tindal, Cofficient Founder, had this to say about the award: “I am delighted that Simon Community (Scotland) have been recognised for their outstanding use of digital technology. They are using NetSuite CRM in a very innovative way to measure and track vital information about rough sleepers in Glasgow. We continue to work with them to extend their system into warehouse and inventory management for charitable donations and into their newly announced bike outreach programme. It is a privilege and an honour to be able to work with such a fantastic charity and to be a part of helping them achieve their digital ambitions”
