The purpose built showrooms will be located at the entrance to Hillington Park and next to Junction 26 on the M8 motorway, highly visible to over 600,000 vehicles passing every week.
Building work is expected to begin shortly and is anticipated will be complete by September next year.
Jamie Cumming, Commercial Director of Hillington Park, said: “2016 has already been a busy year of major new development work at Hillington Park. New, purpose built facilities for Lookers, Ducati Glasgow, Triumph Glasgow and West Coast Harley-Davidson complement Evolution Court, a speculative 85,000 sqft industrial build that will appeal to the logistics or manufacturing sectors. All of these developments are in a prime position next to the busy M8 and with easy access to the site for visitors.”
Lookers holds multiple motor vehicle franchises across the UK including Aston Martin, Audi, Honda, Fiat and Taggarts.
This deal also used the Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ) which was implemented in October 2014. This joint scheme – with Glasgow and Renfrewshire Council – simplifies and streamlines planning regulations over a 10 year period allowing construction projects to proceed within weeks if the proposed works fall under the agreed parameters of the SPZ.
