The scheme, which is the first of its kind in Scotland, streamlines the planning process for developments at Hillington Park. It joins five other projects in the Delivering in Partnerships category. The winner will be announced in November 2015.
The SPZ is also on the shortlist for the ‘Excellence in Decision Making in Planning’ category in the Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence. The decision will be made at an event in London on the 6th of July.
Jamie Cumming, commercial director for Hillington Park said, “Being shortlisted for two industry awards, one just for Scottish projects and the other for across the UK is very exciting. We know that the SPZ is innovative and is designed specifically to accelerate planning decisions. It gives confidence to business owners that they can look ahead in the knowledge that their plans can happen very quickly once they have made their decision.”
The SPZ’s partners include planning consultants Terence O’Rourke and Renfrewshire and Glasgow City Councils.
James Iles, Associate Director at Terence O’Rourke said: “The SPZ is a great example of proactive planning to remove barriers to sustainable development opportunities and a result of close collaboration with the two local authorities.”
